"The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest of (mankind) are exalted" (Psalm 12:8).
Dearest Ones, Psalm 12:8 isn't a justification for hatred or malice toward a particular person, group, president, philosophy, or predicament leading up to or following this election. One of the candidates may be more likely to slow rather than accelerate the decline of liberty, prosperity, and/or the free expression of the gospel. But the candidates are not the problem; the nation where the wicked are already (long since) established and walking on every side, is the problem. This nation is not able to exalt anything but vile candidates. The rare and miraculous anomaly of the USA, founded in and blessed by Biblical principles, has long since been flowing rapidly downward like water seeking its level. Today we will, without doubt, be exalting the vilest among mankind, though perhaps the vile characteristics are manifested differently.
Respond in the same way on election day as you should on every other day; by casting the light of Jesus Christ into the dark morass. Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33) and your soul is kept for eternal fellowship with Him. Reflect His qualities, rather than the weakness of flesh, into the darkness.
Hold on: "Oh how great is Your goodness stored up for those that are in awe of You and trust in You in the presence of the sons of men. You hide them in the secret of Your presence from the pride of mankind: You keep them in a secret covering from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord, who has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city. I had said in my haste, I am cut off from before God's eyes: nevertheless He heard my voice pleading when I cried to Him. O love the Lord, all that have been set apart by Him because He preserves the faithful and fully avenges the proud doer. Be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart all you that hope in the Lord." (Psalm. 31:19-24, paraphrase mine)
"Return (again) to the Shepherd and Guardian of your soul" (1 Peter 2:25). I am less concerned about which vile abomination you voted for, than that your trust and hope is not in that candidate. I voted for what I believed would slow down the decline of civil and religious liberty; God's will will be done either way. That is absolutely, positutly for sure.
